Coronavirus update | 17th March 2020

Like all businesses, Data Select are concerned about the recent Covid-19 outbreak. We are following government advice closely and are primarily focused on ensuring the safety of our staff, customers and suppliers.

The company has a business continuity plan in the event of any significant disruption and will endeavour to keep as near to normal levels of service if a period of quarantine is imposed by the government. Clearly, if our warehouses are closed, this will be more disruptive. We will post updates regularly on our website as the situation alters.

In the meantime, to mitigate the risk the following measures as per our business continuity plan are being followed:

  • All employees when needed or required will be able to work remotely with our systems via our remote worker IT platform. This includes telephony.
  • For staff that normally work in our logistics facilities, specific measures to mitigate the spread of the virus has been enacted. This includes placement of reminder notices on how to reduce the chances of catching the infection as well as making available additional hand sanitisers.
  • In terms of stock availability, Data Select typically holds 4-6 weeks stock and have the capacity to increase this using our extended warehouse capacity at our new facility in Theale.
  • We are working proactively with our carrier fleet to ensure that drivers making deliveries into our facilities minimise their contact with our staff (and ours with them) wherever possible.

Rest assured we are committed to giving the highest level of service during this time and we will post updates here as they become available.
