10th anniversary Platinum Club conference.
On the 12th October, we welcomed 136 members, four main sponsors, over 20 of the leading mobile and tech brands and five panel experts to our 10th anniversary Platinum Club conference. Held at the Forest of Arden Marriott Hotel & Country Club, we kicked off the event with a live panel debate around the conference theme of ‘security and compliance’.
Experts from Samsung, SOTI, Samsung SDS, ICT Reverse and I.X enlightened members on two items of legislation coming into effect next year (GDPR and MiFID II) that will impact UK businesses and how through Data Select, we offer a portfolio of solutions to ensure end user compliance. This was followed by engaging updates from our main sponsors Alcatel, Bullitt (CAT), HTC and Samsung.
Tony Harris provided members with an update on their latest portfolio and TCL LIFE connected home solutions.
The Cat team took members through the recently launched S31 and S41 rugged devices as well as creating interest around their Windows based Tablet. Additionally, there was as a refresher on the benefits of their Cat ‘partner programme’.
Alex Smee delivered the HTC story which built on HTC’s innovation across smartphones, VR and AR as well as a product deep dive into their flagship U11 smartphone.
Vinny Robertson articulated the Samsung B2B device ecosystem, ‘security from chip to app’ (device + Knox software), Note8 flagship and the raft of channel tools available to support members.
Once again members were treated to 20+ brand partners throughout the afternoon and had the opportunity to get hands-on with the latest in tech. From smartphones aimed at seniors and anybody wishing to get involved with tech through to electronic scooters and drones to power banks, members got to play with the latest products, all designed to drive additional revenues and create points of differentiation. The HTC Vive team were back to enthral members with one of the most immersive VR experiences, and the Samsung B2B stand drew in many members.
We continue to evolve the partners within Innovation Zone, ensuring we have the most relevant products that today’s end users demand and welcomed new brands including Lexibook, StK, Boompods, Veho, Opto, Renewd, intempo and Atlas Systems.
Once again, many members attended workshops covering our new mobile solutions portfolio, compliance (GDPR and MiFID II legislation), security and encryption, and logistics and fulfilment. The workshops were supported by many of our expert panellists from the morning who articulated the challenges, but more importantly the solutions available to them.
